I just received a disturbing email from my buddies at Crossroads. I was wondering if you could help me out by responding in SOME way to ask them NOT to take Enlighten off the air.
This will affect not only me, but every listener (not available anymore) and artist (Sound Exchange, BMI, etc)
Please read and then (most importantly) respond.
Unfortunately, we have just learned that Sirius/XM will be discontinuing the Enlighten channel – which carries The Gospel Greats program – effective Tuesday night, May 3rd – at midnight (Eastern) on their satellite service. It will be removed at the same time from the associated Dish TV channel.
This is part of a major restructuring by Sirius/XM to realign channels on both their Sirius and XM services. But it is also intended to accommodate government-imposed requirements (related to the Sirius – XM merger) to provide channels for public service use. Some organizations, colleges and the Mormon church have been given these channels, according to press reports.
Only an immediate outpouring of protests from subscribers such as yourself brings even the possibility of a reversal of this decision.
To reverse this decision requires immediate action by everyone who will be impacted by this action. Make a telephone call, send an e-mail. Yet, by far, the most effective means will be to write and mail a letter – or use all routes.

I am extremely upset about Sirius/XMs removal of the Enlighten channel from their lineup. This channel was the only reason I subscribed to their service. I will bombarding them with calls, emails and letters expressing my disappointment.

I have expressed my comments in the e-mail. But just to reiterate what I said, You are invting the devil into our society when you take away the southern gospel message. Five years ago I had a renewal in my spirit and now I only have southern gospel music in my car and at home. I started listening to enlighten on the tv and did not kmow anything about a satelite
radio until then. I told my daughter that when she up the channels,that if I could not get ENLIGHTEN
there was no point in having the service because that’s the reason I wanted the radio in the first place. I will be in prayer for you people that have done this. Prayer is very powerful.
Disappointment does not even begin to tell you how this makes me feel.
